Tutorial Tuesday; Pride Inspired the B in LGBTQ

Hey, guys! you’re witnessing the birth of a new (possible) day of content! That I conveniently posted on the wrong day…  I want to get myself more comfortable with doing tutorials and makeup related things, since I’ve been getting evidently really, really into it. I’ve been coming up with looks left and right and this is one of my favorites. At the time of writing, I’ve worn this one 3 times this week when ordinarily I do whole new looks for my ‘me’ looks that don’t tie in with challenges. I almost never revisit looks. So, that’s a miracle and calls for a tutorial.

This one very well may be basic, I did just learn that I can literally use my face as a pallet and mix shadow colors on my face. I don’t know how I forgot color theory, but I did. It was a game changer! I was dipping in to every color, where now I need every other color. I feel so bad that I had no idea!

For this tutorial, I used the James Charles x Morphe Pallette, Mac Paint Pot in Soft Ochre, Too Faced 3 in 1 spray, Eyelure Accents, and BH Cosmetic Brushes.

Onward to the Tutorial!

In that last picture please excuse my weird blotchy cheek! I was playing with yellow blush for my Pikachu look for my Starter Pokemon Challenge… Guess I didn’t wash it off. It’s okay, though! I don’t think it’s too noticable, but just enough to apologize for.

I know to people who do makeup all the time, this look is so, so basic, but I was really proud of it and I hope you like it too. This might be an ongoing thing, or maybe just when I’m proud- who knows? I wanted to have fun, and share it with you! Also, go check out Skokey Glow on youtube, she was the inspiration for this naming!

Long Overdue Spring Anti-Haul! Not today Satan!

Hey guys! I’m not dead, I swear. I’ve been prepping for the trip and studying, mainly. It’s going to be a long, long 42 days. I’m really feeling the drudgery of everyday life, especially now with this huge neon sign to look forward to! Thankfully, to break up the monotony, I’m planning to attend a 1920’s party this weekend, with my sparkly new Flapper dress, I’ve kept that bit under wraps. So, we have that to look forward to on Monday’s post!

I’m going to follow the lead of the Beautubers I aspire to follow, and share my Anti-Haul, because I legit need to learn how to stick to my Low Buy. Especially with my latest obsession being the idea of a macbook. Why? I don’t know. Honestly, it’s pretty. Do I need more reasons?

Kat Von D-oh no

First up. is this black compact from KVD. I mean, aside from the controversy surrounding our alleged antisemitic former-tattoo-artist, I’m just not into this. Black? Really? What kind of spring are you a part of, Kat? It’s a kind of cute design, but this is definitely going to be a no from me. We still don’t know what it is, but if it’s eyeshadow- we have plenty of blacks shadows. And, that’s the only thing that makes sense. C’mon.

Please Stop…

Honestly, this is just here because I feel like I have to or else I’ll try to buy it. I’m living for the milkshake palette. But really, being realistic, I already have the colors. I have no need to gamble on a brand I don’t know about, and besides the fact that I bought the pizza palette and haven’t even broken into it. Why did I even buy it? This entry is an attempt to talk myself into self-control and bolstering myself for the release.

Sephora… why?

I can’t even make sense of this. I feel like I’m jumping on the hate train, but choo choo- I hate it. Guys, what? This collection looks so gimmicky. The shadow palette looks like something I’d give a child to play with. The black panther highlight palette doesn’t make any sense either. I feel like they should have made something a bit more universal, because that looks like something that would work on fair-light complexions, but not so much for mid-dark tones. Sephora, seriously. I’m all for mixing niches, but Marvel and Makeup? Nah.

Yawn… Next

This is just…. so boring. Most of us probably have these shades in triplicate. Browns? So inspired. So innovative. Wow. Of course it’s perfect for the summer. It’s literally a neutrals palette.

Have you guys seen this? I’m a little torn, because I’m so basic with my makeup. I also like Stila, so I think to myself, ‘what’s so bad about these?’ After thinking for a moment, I realized that I was bored already. They are such basic and safe colors. Stila does great with the liquid shadows that I’m almost tempted to try these. But, truth be told, I can dupe every color.

I love the design of this. The sophistication of the packaging, and the sparkly, shifting butterfly. The mirror? Love it! That pop of purple? Love it. Wait. That’s the only color I like in the palette. Well that’s not fair. I also like that pastel pink in the lower left. Those glosses are pretty, too. But, this just doesn’t spark joy beyond the thrill of the aboslutely stunning packaging. I. Need. To. Stop. Buying. For. The. Box.

I’ve developed a love for the higher-end products lately, with my growing collection of Pat McGrath and Natasha Denona. I guess I’m in that ‘Collector’ mindset. As much as I like Natasha’s formula and general aesthetic, I can’t. I just… can’t. Not for a neutral palette, and not even for Natasha.

As cute as the Minnie collection is, I can’t commit. I impulse bought the Mickey palette and I love it. It’s more my speed, and I have the Sultry palette. Which saves me if I want a neutral look with a pop of color. I love the colors in that palette and the blush is such a gorgeous color. But, I’m going to have to pass.

How can I hate on food palettes without shaking my head at the company that I view as repsonsible for the fad? The realistic burger is a turn off. The FOMO in me wants it, but I literally haven’t even opened the pizza one aside from just looking at it. So, I won’t be jumping on this one. Youtube be damned, I won’t be buying this.

With that, guys, I’ll shut up about what I won’t be buying. This post could have been longer, but I figure I’ll save the long Anti-Hauls for youtube just so I don’t beat you with text! What things have released that you’re not feeling?

Tag; Step into Spring!

Tag; Step into Spring!

Hey guys, so here’s another instance of me inviting myself to a party that I wasn’t invited to. I really like tags, probably because I kind of had my start on DeviantArt back about a decade ago, when there were so many people doing tags in their posts. That’s not strictly blogging, but I do recall doing so. many. tags.

I know that I’ve been quiet this week, I don’t have a reason or excuse other than I just… had no energy. No matter how many coffees I drink to cheer myself up, I still feel lackluster. I’m wondering if the prospect of braving these 49 days to my big trip has me feeling down. It’s really likely.

Today’s post is another Question and Answer style post, this one in a valiant effort to remind myself that it’s spring. I welcome you guys to take part too on the platform of your choice!

1. What 3 colours remind you most of Spring?

For me, it’s definitely baby yellow, pastel purple and soft pink. I remember growing up and eating peeps with the rest of the children after hunting for multiple pastel plastic eggs. There’s something so innately spring about pastels to me.

2. What is the first thing you’d add to your wardrobe in Spring?

I’m really partial to flowy bohemian style skirts and loose peasant tops for the spring. I tend to start dressing more for casual festivals then everyday life once the weather permits.

3. What is the first wardrobe item you ditch in Spring?

I do away with bulkier coats in favor of cardigans and colorful pull-overs. Sadly, I end up pushing any items featuring fuzzy faux fur to the back of my closet in favor of booties that are more season appropriate.

4. What are your ultimate Spring nude and Spring bright lipsticks?

Please don’t judge me too harshly for this one, but I really like the Kylie Lip Kit in Apricot for my springy pink. It’s so soft and almost like a ‘grown-up’ version of the iridescent pinks I wore as a teen. I also favor more rose gold tones for my nudes, my favorite is one I don’t even know the name of.

5. What is your top Spring fragrance?

You mean people change scents for the season? My favorite scent ever is vanilla. But if I had to pick a spring scent, it would be light and floral. Floral isn’t my usual scent, so I sadly don’t have any to use as an example for this one!

6. What do you add/drop from your skincare routine in Spring?

My skincare routine is woefully inadequate, to be honest. I pretty much just moisturize in the morning then again at night after taking my makeup off. I try to remember to slap some moisturizer on my face when I don’t wear makeup, but more often than not, I forget.

7. Do you change your hair up in Spring?

I change my hair up all the time! It doesn’t have to a seasonal thing. It’s just when I’m bored of what i have going on, which is what happened this time. I do notice that my current chop did take place right as the seasons were changing over. Hm.

8. Are there any exciting beauty releases you’re waiting for this Spring?

A few that I’m aware of right now! My favorites hail from Colour Pop, personally just for the affordability factor and their superb quality. I’m a little ashamed to admit that I did purchase (I think) 7 items from their Disney Villains collection. I ordered the palette along with Facilier’s set, then tacked on Ursula’s highlight and Cruella’s gloss

The next one is also from Colour Pop and it’s their actual 2019 spring collection, I purchased the ‘your face is like sunshine‘ set because I have no self control, and really like the colors and the idea of getting lots of items for pretty cheap.

There is an honorable mention from MAC, that I haven’t purchased from. I’m lowkey proud that I haven’t gotten something from the Boom, Boom, Bloom collection, but I know it only because when I looked at it, the For the Frill of It gloss was sold out.

9. What are your top 3 Spring nails shades?

Definitely have to go with teal, rosy pink and champagne. Champagne is a perfect color for any season, in my humble opinion.

10. Who do you tag to do this post next?

I did already kind of answer this question before we got started, since I don’t have any friends -sniff- that blog, I tag my lovely readers! If you do participate in this tag, please leave the link in the comments below!

Unboxing; Surprising Discovery From Yes Oh Yas

Hey guys, I’m back with a little bit of a late unboxing for December 2018. No joke, I got this on December 29th, so it was almost a little too late. This box actually had a brand I was familiar with, and that you may remember from a long ago post. The Wholesale Makeup Event I covered a few months ago. Beauty Creations. I know I was pleasantly surprised by their quality from that sale, but since getting them I haven’t revisited them.

Maybe that’s a shame, because even though they appear to be a knockoff brand, they seem to have a pretty solid formula. I applied this makeup at about 6:30 AM to get ready for work. And the gold shadows I went with were phenomenal for what they are. I’ll admit that I do need to brush up on my eye shadow technique, but barring any obvious improvements I can make, I quite enjoyed these shadows.

The thing that had me a little confused was the color correcting concealer palette- I don’t think I liked that too much. I just don’t see the purpose of them over actual concealer like my trusty shapetape. The only one I got any real use out of was the Peach tone, which I put under my eyes. Overall, I wasn’t digging the effect.

The other items being that liquid lip and a brush, I’ll speak on the liquid lip. I liked the color, I didn’t however, like that it felt like it never completely dried down. It remained tacky until it finally wore off 4-5 hours later. All things considered, that’s not bad lasting power.  I did replace it with my Glitterflip while at work because I forgot to bring this one.

This post is little on the simple side for me, and guys, I apologize for that. I have some matters that I’m currently dealing with, but I didn’t want to leave you guys high and dry. I think I’ll end this post with the wear-test results!
Honestly, I wanted to try a gif this once, to show off the eye shadow. I feel like taking the pictures with the whole eyes-closed thing is super awkward. The liner is KVD Dagger liquid liner and obviously held up fairly well. I bought it before I knew of the controversy, but I’m determined to get my money’s worth out of it.

My basic feelings about this shipment from YOY, is that it feels low-value in comparison to IPSY, which delivers recognizable larger brands. The quality in these products did surprise me. And I do want to note quickly, that I don’t know much about brushes so I can’t really speak on this one. As well as the mask, which I haven’t had occasion to use it yet in the course of everything going on.

I do hope to bring you guys some travel content soon as we prepare for potential first out-of-state Weekend of Content! Stay tuned for Thursday!

Holiday Roundup! Products to Add to Your Repertoire!

Hey guys! Another day, another post for Blogmas! Today’s a super different, in that the bulk of it is a video format! I rounded up my favorite (and not so favorite) items from the 2018 holiday releases in the video below!

I apologize for the overall quality of the video, I tried to make it as palatable as humanly possible. This is going to be fun to learn, I think!

Early Christmas Gift with Allure December 2018 x Nikkie Tutorials

Hey guys! I know this one is going up a touch later than I usually post. I’m not going to lie, I crashed hard last night. We had a dinner party with our close friends, so I had scarce time to prep today’s post! Today is going to be slow day, kind of revisiting beauty boxes. On that note, I did get my December Allure Box, which I was so excited for. In case you may be out of the loop with Allure, they did a Collab with NikkieTutorials, a huge beautuber. Needless to say, I was excited

If you click that link, it’ll take you to her December 2018 video where she discusses this particular box! She’s currently doing her own blogmas sort of event on her channel that I highly recommend if you’re into festive Beauty content. And guys, she goes all out.

Nikkie is the girl that turned me on to Ofra highlights, so I was hoping I would be getting one this month. Seriously, I just knew I wanted more Ofra. So I got the email sometime last week that my box had shipped. Excited, I kept checking the tracking history until the big day!

Isn’t that beautiful? In this box, I got a tiny The Nubian palette from Juvia’s Place, Nyx Lip Lingerie, Ren Clean overnight moisturizer, a single Neutrogena makeup remover, LaSplash Architect liner, and the Ofra All the Highlight highlighter.  On first glance, I was pleased to see that all of the items in this month’s box are cohesive.  I knew that my girl Nikkie would take care of us.

The Nubian Palette has loads of warm neutrals that I was so excited to play with. Juvia’s Place has really affordable products at high quality that I had previously only heard tell of.  You can find Juvia’s Place Palettes at Ulta at around 20 dollars, give or take a couple dollars. Or click the image below for more information about this particular product

I think with the appropriate face products you could make a passable holiday face with these items- which is exactly what I did end up doing. Though, since I am just getting really started with cosmetics, it’s not exactly what I wanted it to be. But, I do think I did a decent job!

The Nyx Liquid Lip looked a little warmer in the tube, but on application it cooled significantly to a subdued brown. I thought that color wasn’t particularly holiday approved, so I tapped on some KVD Everlasting Glimmer Veil in Gold Skool to liven it up just a little.

Before looking closely at the eyes, I thought that the liner was better. That is purely a user error. I did find that the liner performed well and was somewhat easy to work with. I’m still getting my bearings with liquid liner, I’m sure I’ll get there eventually! One thing I will say is that I was pretty proud of the way these lashes came out. I tried full-strip lashes for the first time since I failed with the magnetic ones. These are the Ardell Studio Effects custom lashes, these things definitely have a learning curve and I’m still not sure how to get the glue off of them afterward.

The last thing I’ll bring up is the highlighter. Wow. It’s definitely something. My gripe with it is that the deepest copper tone is almost too pigmented and didn’t look right on my skin tone. I had to go over it with the remaining foundation on my beauty blender and then put on a little concealer before it chilled out. Even then there was still some obvious highlight showing through. I think my mistake was that I did mix all of the colors for my highlight and it’s a mistake I won’t be making again. I’ll definitely be trying this again to get a better feel for it.

I know today’s post is a little lacking in the Christmas Spirit, aside from the cameo appearance of our first Christmas tree in the photo of my loot. I do hope you guys are having a great Holiday break and that you get everything on your wish list. I’m still crossing my fingers for that Tatcha Primer on my end!

On that note, I’ll leave you guys until tomorrow where we get one day closer to Christmas!

Let’s kick off the twelve days of Christmas with a Wishlist!

Hey guys! It’s starting to look and feel a lot like Christmas with enough sales to make your head spin! It’s that time of when we make lists full of hope for things we’ve wanted all year (afterall, we’ve been good right?). We also make lists of promises to ourselves, but this post isn’t about what we hope to change and maybe stick to, this is about what things have come out that I’m on the hunt for!

I have a few things I’m after from makeup to outfits, and video games! Let me know what things you’re hoping for in the comments below!

Cosmetics

  1. Tatcha Silk Canvas Protective Primer

I can think of no other item to start off this segment of my Wishlist. I’ve been hearing so much about it from various youtubers and I’ve seen what it can do in comparisons against some wannabe dupes. I’m enamored. The amount of product you get in this one package makes the hefty price tag worth it. I mean aside from the advantages it appears to have over other balm primers, such as NYXs. I’m so curious that I can hardly stand it ad I can firmly say that Tatcha has earned a place on my wishlist!

        2. Too Faced Pretty Rich anything

It’s no secret that I really like Too Faced, and this new collection they’ve put out tickles my fancy. I love all that glitters, and this collection definitely has it. The glosses are gorgeous, the shadows are stunning and I love the highlighters. I’m feeling the adorable packaging, of course. There’s something so fun and edgy about this collection, that I really want to add to my stash!

   3. Dose of Colors Mickey Lip Gloss in Rockin It

I’ve heard nothing  but good about Dose of Colors liquid lips, and I’m curious to try it. Why not start with an iconic collab with Disney? This color looks like such a cute nude, that can go with just about anything and I love the versatility of it. I’ve heard that their formula is pretty great, so this year I aim to give to give them a shot!

  4. Clairsonic Mia Smart Beauty Device

This one is more of a tool than a cosmetic item, and I’ve been curious about this for a while. I’ve seen a few youtubers use it and it’s been on my wishlist for a while now. I think the idea is great for people like me who are a little lazier with their blending. I try, but I have a little difficulty getting the finish I want. Chances are this would save me money on beauty blenders! Thanks to Tati for making me realize that I want this!

Apparel

  1. Cuddle With Me Sweater Dress from Posh Peach

I’ve recently gotten really into sweater dresses! They’re so cute, stylish and versatile that I feel the need to begin a collection. The Posh Peach always has the cutest things and I’m magnetically pulled in when I get within a mile of their adorably welcoming shop! This particular dress just looks so cozy that it’s begging for a Starbucks cup of something warm!

    2. Lily Tulle Skirt from Francesca’s

I haven’t had the ocassion to break out the tulle recently, but I want it to be known that I LOVE tulle. It has such a girly, princessy feel that I absolutely adore! There’s something so youthful about it. This particular one is a little toned down in comparison to my current tulle skirt but that just makes it perfect to wear to work! I’m dying for some work appropriate tulle.

    3. Calvin Klein Faux Wool Trench Coat in Bellini (Belk)

I’ve always loved the look of trench coats and have admittedly impulse bought a few traditional looking ones. But what I’m really after is a trench coat that is toasty, soft and flares out… and is preferably not black like everything else in my closet. I think the perfect one would be a new color for me as far as outerwear goes: pink. This one is way too cute and I can totally see sporting it to work when I need a little pick me up!

    4. Plaid Circle Skirt (HM)

I love plaid, and especially on my skirts. This one has the feel of a school marm and I’m kind of living for it. The length is great for a modest work outfit, but you could also make it a little edgier too with some accessories. I really wasn’t planning on putting two skirts on here, but I fell in love the moment I saw this one!

 Miscellaneous

  1. Animal Crossing  on the Nintendo Switch

You guys may not know that aside from blogging about whatever it is I blog about, I also really enjoy playing video games! Animal Crossing on Nintendo’s newest system has been at the tip top of my list since the system was announced. The game was finally announced at a Nintendo Direct in in October, I believe and I’m so excited. It’s up for preorder on Gamestop’s website though no date for release has actually been determined as of yet. I highly recommend checking out this title! Especially if you’re into cheerful town simulations with charming anthromorphic characters stress-free gaming experience

2. RODE Compact On-Camera Mic

I’m trying to get myself ready to start producing youtube content periodically, and on the test runs I found my audio to be lacking. It’s not clear with just my camera, so I’m on the hunt for a microphone to start off with. I know that with me it’s not good to drop loads of money on a thing without knowing if I’m going to get a footing, so 60 bucks is a decent compromise. This is more of a practical thing right now rather than a plain ol’ want.

3. Starbucks Reusable Tumbler

When I saw this particular update in my Google Feed I was super interested- of course the big question is whether or not they’ll be available when I’m able to get one. The tumble would save me money in the end and get me and instagrammable tumbler to take to work with me! While $40 is a little high for what I want to pay for a cup, the end result would be so worth it!

4. TYSSEDAL Dressing Table Vanity from Ikea

The other thing I’m kind of hoping to have when I started producing videos, is a decent vanity. Right now it’s clear to me that I’m going to have to utilize other methods of storage for my veritable collection, so I’m not too concerned with storing all of my makeup in a single table. This one would go great in the space I have planned and coordinate well with the other thing I have picked out to accent my station.

That’s my wishlist for this wonderfully materialistic holiday! I’m not sure what (if any) of these items I’ll be able to attain, but I did keep my price points somewhat in the realm of reality. I have some big plans for the coming year where this blog is concerned and I hope you guys are there to see us into the new year! What sort of things are on your list of must haves this holiday season?

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post in this Christmas Countdown!

Sticker!

I’m  trying to design a sticker for each day of this (event?)! Today’s is this, which I had designed ahead of time!

October Beauty Unboxing and Catchup!

Hey guys, welcome to another beauty post in a one week period! This time I decided to catch up on the beauty boxes from last month since we’re nearing December. I think I prefer this format, honestly, because this time I played with the items! What I did, and plan to continue doing, is this: I created a full face using items from all of the boxes together. I’ll put the complete look down at the bottom! Now, let’s go ahead and get started!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The first one I’m going to go into is Lip Monthly. It’s a $12.95 a month subscription service that offers 5 full-size products each month. While I think samples are adorable, I rather like full-size because I get more bang with that. This was my first Lip Monthly shipment, and I was so excited! Not only about the prospect of full-size products, but also the super cute bag!

This first Lip Monthly bag was stocked with a Nude Lip, an Orange Lip from Stiks Cosmetics, a Lip Oil, holographic lip gloss from Bella Pierre and an orange lip pencil. The Nude, is, of course, good with any look. The lip oil is perfect for the cooler weather we’re getting and I didn’t even know there was lip oil. The holographic lip gloss is self-explanatory, and the orange pair is odd and was perfect for the spooky times. I thought this bag was great. I’d give my first Lip Monthly a 5/5 for variety!

Next up, we had Sephora play! I’ve been so many people on reddit.com/r/beautyboxes get this subscription and I wanted in on the fun. Especially since I discovered Sephora close by. My first Sephora play provided a few essentials for a full face. Dr. Brandt pore minimizing primer, which I was really excited for. I recently came across from Dr. Brandt cleanser at Marshall’s and realized that it’s pretty up there in price. Sephora also gave me a moisturizer, foundation from Makeup Forever, Clinique lip crayon and Urban Decay All Nighter.

I’ll include a quick review on the items I chose below, so let’s move right along! My first Sephora play box gets a 4/5, because of the foundation being the wrong shade. Not a bad rating by any stretch!

Allure is up next! This is another one I’ve been envious of for while, and finally decided to get. This first box included a dry shampoo, lip balm/treatment, Hourglass mascara, cleanser, lotion, glitter gel and Claudelie serum. I think this box performed pretty fairly, with it’s counterparts. Hourglass is a brand I’ve been curious about for a time, but have been unable to find locally. I was pretty hype about the First Aid Beauty lotion, becaus I had a great experience with them years ago!

My first Allure box gets a 4/5 for usability! I can’t justify a 5 for these items, sadly.

For the last new box, we have Birchbox. Birchbox has always been really hit or miss with me previously. Don’t get me wrong, I like Birchbox. I don’t love it though. The items I got in October was a leave-in conditioner, small bar of natural soap, winky lux cream highlight, a facial moisturizer and nail polish.

Some of this will be useful, but I was generally underwhelmed by this box. I think I’ll throw the conditioner into a travel bag with the dry shampoo from allure. For the rating, I think this one gets a 3/5 because I was unimpressed but it did have some usefulness.

I did include ipsy in that slideshow above, if you want a quick rundown of those items, click here

The Winners!

Alright! We got that out of the way! Like I said, I did decide to do a full face of makeup with just the items from these boxes. From Lip Monthly, I picked the orange lip and pencil duo, because  I thought that color was so unusual and pretty. I’ve never worn orange- that changes now. From sephora, I borrowed the primer and foundation. The primer was tinted a tan color and the scent was somehow medical? It was a fairly strong scent that I wasn’t too crazy about. I will say that a little goes a long way though. The foundation was the incorrect shade, but did seem to blend out nicely with a beauty blender.

From allure I took the ritzy Hourglass mascara, I felt so fancy! It had a great lifting and curing effect on my lashes that I absolutely love. I might end up splurging and ordering this offline!

I took the bronzer, eyeko liner as well as both shadows from Ipsy. The Winky Lux highlight from Birchbox.

The pink shadow was almost a mousse, the texture was really interesting to play with since I’m so used to pressed powders. I swept that onto my lid with my finger and followed that with some of the Nomad blue shadow in my crease and at the outer corner. I made an attempt to wing my liner- the eyeko liner performed very well.  Honestly, I was thrilled- not by my ‘wing’ though.

As I said, the mascara was amazing. Though I’m kind of wishing that I had gone more crazy with the colors on my eyes to make the black pop more.

For my face, I used the moisturizer from Birchbox first. It was unscented and my skin seemed to love it, and it felt nice and hydrating. I dabbed on the Dr. Brandt primer which is when I noticed the smell. At first I liked how rejuvenating it smelled but quickly decided I didn’t actually like it. I quickly layered the foundation on top of it and I’m thrilled to report that I didn’t notice any heaviness on the skin like I do with some foundations. The only thing I notice is that it’s a bit too bronze for me.

I swept on the Bronzer. I like how it’s subtle and not too pigmented. It gives me a little bit of a sunkissed look that I’m enjoying. I think my second favorite thing from this entire haul is probably the high light. The highlighter is pretty much right up my alley. I love it. Just look at that highlight. I’m still learning, but I’m definitely pleased with the application. It blended out beautifully and applied flawlessly. Because my cheeks still looked naked, I patted a little bit of the pink eyeshadow onto my cheeks and blended it outwards. I think I actually kind of prefer the eye shadow as a blush.

The rest is just the lips, which I lined and followed up with the orange lipstick. I’m sure you can tell that I didn’t leave it at that- I used my favorite lashes that I talk about all the time to finish off the look.

Let me know what you guys think of this type of posts. I really enjoy tooling around with makeup and sharing these boxes with you! Do you guys have any subcriptions that you’d recommend?

Unboxing; Let’s Ipsy again!

Unboxing; Let’s Ipsy again!

Hey, guys! It’s time for another Ipsy unboxing! Ipsy has been my favorite subscription box for a couple of years, and they hold that title still. To be perfectly fair, I wasn’t able to post about this particular bag sooner due to the 7 days of Halloween and after that I had content planned. So, we’re going to start our catch up with this.

Okay, so that’s what we got in the bag this month. I’ll go in order of excitement and end on my #1 item! We got that vampy nail polish, it’s the brand Sundays in #18. I haven’t had a chance to test this, but I’ll come out and admit that it’s what I’m the least excited about. I’m not too big into nail polish right now, because I’m using acrylics. But, even if I were using polish this color is way too dark for me. I may throw it into a giveaway or something, once I get more items!

I think if I had to pick my next least favorite thing, I’d have to go with the sleep masks. I’m getting into masks lately, and my skin is grateful. But, I’m not sure how I feel about sleeping in one. I tend to toss and turn in my sleep, so I’d have it all over my pillows. I’ll still try it, because I do love masks. These are my favorite kind too! Mud masks are my jam! So aside from the whole sleep thing, I’m at least a little excited for these!theBalm Bronzer in Oliver

They also sent me bronzer from Thebalm. This is a brand I’m not really too familiar with. I know that my best friend owns one of  their palettes that she likes quite a lot. I will say that I do like the way they do their designs. It looks almost like a booklet. I believe that they gave me a really good shade for me. I played with it a little bit and di make it looks okay (by my standards, at least). This is something I was a little hype about, because I really want to figure out contouring.

Nomad shadow in Norrsken N04Okay, so, the shadow. I looked at the app so I could cheat and see what I had coming, I saw that they were sending me another eyeshadow. If you guys could see my bathroom, you’d know that I love shadows. Ipsy has a bad habit of sending me pink shadows that I typically don’t wear. When I saw there were two possible colors I could get, my immediate thought was that I was going to get another pink. But, they picked better this time! This blue is a beautiful cerulean color, seriously, just check it out. On second thought, it might be a little less cerulean and more plain ol’ blue. I think I’ll actually be using this, and I was actually really excited to see that it was blue and not pink this time!

Are you sitting down? This next thing knocked my socks off, no joke. Or, well, it would have had I been wearing socks! I’ve been considering buying Tarte’s shape tape concealer but can’t stop buying palettes long enough to grab it. That and apparently the price tag is a little steep to me for a small tube. Now, I know why the hype. This is fantastic. Not only is it the product I’ve been looking at for a few months, but it’s the perfect color for me. Once this sample is gone, I may be able to finally justify the purchase!

Quick update time! I do plan to begin doing unboxings on Youtube so I can expand my reach a little. I’m brainstorming other things I can do there, too. So keep an eye out for updates on that! Also, I did just add a whole new page to the site! If you click on my Discounts link, you’ll find my affiliate codes. You guys can score some pretty good loot at a discount, so be sure to check that out!

I also got Allure, Sephora Play!, Lip Monthly and I want to say there’s another, off the top of my head, I want to say it was Yes oh Yas.Those will be in an October Masterpost that is planned to go up before the end of the month but after my Black Friday post!
