What’s New; New Arrivals at the Posh Peach Pre-Fall!

Hey there, guys! Is this another Thursday where I’m on time? I think it is! For today’s post,  I journeyed to the far off land of Downtown Columbus to gather you guys some What’s New content for this up-coming Fall! The Posh Peach is known here at JnJ for bringing styles and aesthetics that I absolutely adore! This time when I wandered in was no different! I meandered around the store looking for anything that caught my eye, which if I’m being honest, was everything.

Since I’m a little rusty on this sort of content, I’m just going to jump right in. For the outfits, I stuck to the new arrivals instead of doing my usual and scavenging the clearance rack. The first outfit that I found and promptly came to love, was this one. Some white skinnies and this cute yellow shirt that said ‘Raise Good Humans’– that’s a sentiment I can totally get behind! However, I could not for the life of me, find the shirt on their site. It may be already on clearance, since I waited a little bit to make this post. Bummer! Though I did find a cached version of the page that appears to show the shirt!

My second outfit, because I was too lazy to take the pants off for this one, is a subtle callback to the simpler times of the early to mid-2000s, where you could wear skirts and dresses over your pants, and only get judged a little. Ashley Tisdale was queen of that aesthetic, and I channeled just a little bit by pairing this dress with these pants. It looked better in my head, and truthfully would be miles better with a braided leather belt. I’m thinking boho chic? But hey, it has pockets!

This next outfit was on the opposite side of the spectrum, color-wise. The pants I couldn’t find on the site, of course, as is my custom. I will say that though I can’t locate them now, they are in my heart. These were the most comfortable skinnies I’ve ever put on my legs. I loved them. They had plenty of give and stretch, they were breathable and didn’t feel overly hot. I liked the tank as well with these, I think it paired perfectly and would great with some chunky wooden beads. If this particular outfit is still on sale when I get my paycheck, I would like to go back for it.

Next up, is this light T-shirt dress. It was a soft and forgiving fabric that felt cool to the touch. Perfect for the warmer days of fall, as I don’t think it would be appropriate to sweat in it for the summer. It was a little ruched on the side, which I don’t generally like but it didn’t detract from the cuteness of the dress. It’s slightly olive colored, so it would be great with some off-white or soft tan tights. Maybe some wedges. Actually, scratch my summer comment, it could be a nice bathing suit cover-up if you really want to get some use out of it before the summer ends, which I don’t blame you!

Anyone like animal print? That’s back in, right? I don’t know much about trends as of late, which is ironic given the post you’re reading. I have seen animal print more and more on my Instagram feed. This actually was the first thing where I was able to find both pieces in question! The skirt itself, was a little like silk? It was a tightly woven fabric, that I can’t place. Evidently, I’m a little tall for this skirt, but that’s okay! I do like the ankle look, because it pairs great with my favorite brown suede boots. This is ordinarily not my style, but I do like the way the shirt brings it together aesthetically. As with most of their shirts, this one is very lightweight and soft. It’s super comfy and is emblazoned with the words ‘Easy Tiger’.

We’re to the last one! And, of course, I had to try a romper on my trip to my favorite boutique! You guys know me by now, I love rompers! This one… oh my gosh. It’s gorgeous. Lacy. Zips on the side. It’s perfect. It would so cute with a white triangle shawl, and some pearl earrings, maybe some strappy black or sandles… maybe some flats. I love this romper. It was insanely comfortable! This sort of romper would be great for summer, fall and eventually spring, if you warm it up a little with some tights.

What a perfect note to end this post on, I linked all of the stuff I could find so you can check it out and maybe order it for yourself, if you want to make me cry. As usual, I highly recommend you check them out and give them some love! I’m sure you’ll love them just as much as I do!

Five Fashionable Years With The Posh Peach

Hey there guys! Over the weekend, the Posh Peach, my favorite local store here in Columbus, celebrated their Fifth anniversary here in town! I, of course, had to attend! They had the event beginning once they opened. They were going to hand out goodie bags to the first 25 to walk in. You know I was going to be among the first 25. Not only did I get a goodie bag, but I made friends!

I got there at 8:30, an hour and a half from opening, and there were already 7 people outside. They had been there since 4:30 at the earliest. Talk about dedication! I was almost going to show up at 9:30, and I’m glad I didn’t stick to my original plan because by 9:30, there were more than 25 people out there. They weren’t playing with that free stuff.

Now, I was planning to get some What’s New content today, but when I tell you those lines were loooong, they were long. The best I was able to do was snag my goodie bag, exchange contact info and snap some photos of some of the new things I saw. First off, I’m going to be narcissisitic for a moment and show the picture I had taken of me in front of the Fiesta themed backdrop, because it was the first thing I went to. Last year, I was too insecure to get my picture taken and I’m kind of thrilled that I was able to actually do it this year.

Now, moving on from that segue, my goodie bag, at first was completely useless to me. I had a scrunchie and some of those no tear hair ties, that look like those stretchy bracelets that used to go on keyrings, plus a 5 dollar Posh Peach gift card and evidently a pair of earrings, that I didn’t see at first. I traded both of the useless items for earrings and a bracelet from my newfound friends. Much better!

There was also the customary snacks, cookies and macarons. The cookies, I found honestly lackluster this year. They weren’t very sweet, like a cookie is supposed to be. But that’s absolutely no reflection on the Posh Peach, because I love them. I will say that the cookies were so cute. It’s a shame they didn’s taste as good as they looked.

There was also the cutest little mini pinata on the table.

Now I can’t really say too much about the new releases at the Posh Peach. Y’know, since I wasn’t able to do my What’s New content. So, I’ll leave a little gallery below!

What’s New; Let’s Go Down to the Thicket

Hey guys! This last weekend didn’t go quite as I had planned, but it’s okay, because I still got some content for you! I had planned to attend an opening a couple hours away, but due to the continuing joblessness, we opted to stay close to home. I gathered a little content over the weekend, first up is the Lizard Thicket, where they graciously hosted me and allowed me to try on some of the newest ensembles in their inventory.

Whats New; February Posh Peach Edition

Hey guys! Welcome to a new What’s New post for our very own Posh Peach, here in Columbus, GA.  Also, holy cow, is this one on time? I know the last post was a little different, but I hope you guys enjoyed it! I was absolutely floundering in my indecision on what to do with my hair. This post was gathered before my medium-chop, so it has my old hair in it- all future posts featuring the likeness of yours truly, will include my new-do, and I’m not even going to lie- I’m still way on the fence with it. I’m so on the fence that my first stop after leaving the salon was the beauty supply to grab a wig.

That aside, I did find a few new pieces at the Posh Peach that I’m excited to share, and even brought some of it home with me (like I often do)! Without further ado, let’s get to the goods!

I was able to find most things on the site- this was not one of them, however. It may be because this isn’t technically new to their shop, as it was on the sale rack. Who would I be if I passed up the sale rack? In the future, I think I’ll make an effort to confine my search to the newest-of-the-new for you guys! That aside, I really quite liked this romper (jumpsuit?), aside from the pesky little fact that it wouldn’t zip on the side that you can’t see. Oh, you thought I was just showing off my new tattoo? I was holding my arm in such a way to make it look zipped. That aside, I really wish this would have zipped up for me, because I really liked it! It was corduroy, which meant that it had a little give in the fabric and was warm. It broke my heart.

I think, I would pair this with champagne accessories like a scarf or headband. Maybe a long beaded necklace, too.

I did find two different pairs of corduroy pants for today’s post! I didn’t even think I really liked corduroy until just lately, but that’ll show me to think I know what I like. This particular pair is an earthy brown that I paired with their Back in Brick top, which genuinely can pass as a dress if you pair it with some super opaque tights or leggings. I thought these paired very well for a comfy and somewhat 70s vibe. I feel like a scarf would have tied it all together, and perhaps a paisley headband. Of course, my converse don’t lean to that aesthetic, and truthfully I’m at a loss for what sort of shoes I’d pair with this!

This outfit was a little bit of a hit and miss with me. I wasn’t a big fan of the fit of the Spring Time in Heaven skirt or the stiffness of the material. The look between myself and the gorgeous model is a stark night and day- despite the similarities in our color choices. I really liked the colors of the skirt and was more than a little distressed that it didn’t quite suit me. The dog mama tee was just a little more sheer than I would generally prefer, as well. I feel like if the skirt ran a little larger in the sizing, it would have been fine.

This is the last thing that I can call new! I thought this was the Sweet Like Sugar wrap dress, but after looking at it closer I’ve determined that I need to wear my glasses more often. This is most assuredly not the wrap dress, but it certainly is adorable. I sadly, couldn’t find this item on their site after scrolling through the categories. This would be perfect for a datenight at a fair, dare I say, the upcoming Spring Fling here in Columbus? Suddenly I’ve decided that I’m lacking fair-appropriate styles and I need to fix that.

This dress would be great with some strappy little sandals or some simple white pumps. Just really play into the sweet, femininity with a flowery necklace and, if you have long hair- a ponytail would make the whole look.

The Winners!

The items that went home with me from this visit, may seem familiar! They were featured in January’s What’s New Post! While I’m thinking about it, what was with that post title? Did I think I wasn’t going to be going back this year? Anyway, I’m super pleased that I was able to score my coveted funfetti cardigan and corduroy pants! Of course, since the pants are decidedly not new, I was unable to find them to provide a link.

In this photo, I paired it with the Dog Mama shirt, that I almost bought. I decided that it was either the cardigan or it, and guys… I love me a cardigan.

Anyway, thank you guys for joining me for another What’s New post at one of my favorite shops in my lovely little town. And, can I just please give some props to the gorgeous ladies that model their clothes? Those are the faces of the sweet girls that work there, and they are just wonderful. Guys, please, share your secrets to looking so relaxed in front of the camera!

I hope everyone is having a great Monday so far, and that those Resolutions are holding up for you! I, for one, have already lost my planner that was part of my resolution and I’m feeling lost without it. πŸ™

Boutique Debut; Feeling Chic with Fabr’ik!

Hey guys, welcome to yet another late post. I have figuratively fallen off whatever wagon I was on that made me prompt with my posts. Must be something in the water? Anyway… excuses aside, I was going to beguile you with the apex of my Valentine’s day festivities, but I imagine that might come across as me being immodest, so I’ll give my lovely future life partner props at the end of this post!

For the curious, you can check on Twitter for the play-by-play where I live-tweeted the scavenger hunt. I also bragged on him a little on Instagram, but not quite as much. On twitter I’m also @java_and_jeans so if you’re curious, there you are!

Moving on to the post at hand. On my fabled Weekend of Content when I took myself to Auburn to experience some of the missed opportunities there, I found Fabr’ik. A chic and comfortable little boutique that, at a glance, was a little above  my pay grade. But, I did find that I picked the right day to make the journey, because they were having the biggest sale of the year. Lucky me!

The wall of shoes in that slideshow broke my heart, due to the fact that I was fruitlessly infatuated with some white booties that ended up not being my style. All of the other shoes I fell in love with, were too small. That aside, my hunt was fruitful.

One of the first things I was drawn to was this fiery sequin dress, from the clearance rack. It may be a little short, but nothing that some opaque black leggings can’t remedy. I’m feeling like this would be perfect for the holiday party this year… After all, I did say I was going to wear sequins. I’m glad it fell into my lap, and was only 40 dollars!

This was the other thing I was absolutely obsessed with, and admittedly I usually do the reverse of this. I generally save the selections for the end, but I guess I decided to put those first today. This particular outfit was just too perfect- I’m a sucker for halter-tops and the shorts were so comfortable. This will be perfect for an upcoming trip to the beach, or out of state somewhere a little warmer! I feel like some simple flip-flops and an anklet would make this.

These two things, I thought were moderately similar. The pink patterned one, while cute, wasn’t quite my style as I had thought. That adorable rose patterned one was amazingly comfortable. Had nice soft fabric that feel cool to the touch… but didn’t quite fit right. I know it might look like it does, but that zipper would. not. cooperate. I think of the things that didn’t come home with me, that second romper is the one that got away. What if it did fit?

This last item was something that, at first, I was really feeling. Honestly, I loved the pattern of the jump suit, I liked the fabric, the top and the boots… but separately. I feel like, even though I kind of liked the boots, they too far deviated from a distinct me-ness that I’m trying to find. I don’t wear faux-snakeskin, I wear converse, suede or leather. Maybe if these were a slightly different material, I would feel otherwise. But, alas.

The jump-suit itself, barely fit. Which legitimately upset me. I have such a hard time finding a jump-suit that actually fits. It’s either nice on my waist, and too short, or long enough but too tight. This one was the former… kind of. I think the fit is a little awkward, truth-be-told. While I loved the aesthetic of the white top with it, I couldn’t make myself love it.

Let’s move on past that heart-break and get on to my feelings on Fabr’ik!

My general feel on Fabr’ik was a somewhat mid-to-high-end boutique in the perfect downtown location. It’s literally nestled in a 2 block radius with like 3 or 4 other boutiques. Perfect for them, not so much for my self-control.  The general aesthetic of the shop was welcoming and warm, with a strange Southern Chic vibe that I picked up from the couches with a cow skin rug.

It felt much bigger than it looked, with the arrangement of the items. That’s a great accomplishment because it’s a fairly compact venue. I love what they did with it, andI loved the wonderful staff there, too. I will definitely be returning to see what sort of new stock they get in the next few months!

I don’t want to bore you guys with too many of the details, since you can check out the scavenger hunt below!

The aftermath of every thing ended up looking something like this!

He had that sign custom made for our wedding this year! I’m so excited for the time to come where we can finally get married- I love this man more than anything and I’m literally so lucky that I can’t express it properly. I know this post comes a little (lottle) later than I would have likes- I’m prepping the post for Thursday and filming the Tarteist Pro Remix video, as well!

I’ll leave you guys with this lovely picture of us hanging out in front of the overlook at the Country Kitchen in Pine Mountain, Georgia!

…wait, I lied. I do want to give props one more time. You guys may have seen a coffee sign in that Twitter story. That was inside of one of my absolute all-time favorite shops. The storefront sign probably ruins any sense of suspense here. But, I want to extend a thanks to the beautiful people over at UniquExpressions for being a part of another precious memory for us! I hope we create so many more memories with you guys! I’m currently planning another trip out there as soon as time and money permit to hit that little boutique and drink about 10 cups coffee!

Finally, I want to close this post off with a big thank you to you, my readers. I don’t know what to say except I do see that these posts get into the double-digits, and I’m so incredibly grateful for that. I feel like maybe I’m reaching someone, and I’m just so legitimately happy that you’re here. Just a heads-up, I do plan another giveaway soon, so stay tuned for that! This next one may be physical goods that are shipped out- I’m just finalizing those plans!
