Hey guys! I’m in the midst of doing youtube filming, but I still wanted to get this Ipsy post up for you guys. I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to get the June bag, so this may be the last one for a while so I definitely wanted to enjoy it. This particular month was at least better than last month’s. Which is a relief, as I really don’t want to leave Ipsy on a sour note!
Hey there, everyone! I actually have some coffee content for you today and piping hot… errrrr cold. You know those pieces of shortbread heaven called Biscoff? Do you like it? If so, have I got the thing for you! We made a trip to Tyrone, Georgia on a whim and found Circa Coffee , an adorable little place by any standards and just the kind of aesthetic I absolutely die for. I’ll stick a gallery down below so you can enjoy it with me!
Hey there guys! I hope you guys are having a fantastic Thursday afternoon! Today is a lazy day for me, because since I lost my job I have been running like I’m on fire. I know this post comes way late, since we have the May ipsy now, but better late than never! This particular shipment wasn’t too impressive, sadly. In any event, let’s get to it!
Hey guys! I know I missed a couple posts- honestly, I’m not in a good headspace. I’m hoping things get better soon, but no improvement yet. I don’t want to bore you guys with my mental health woes, partially because I don’t want to wallow in my self-pity here, but also because I want to show you the three Frappes that are now at Starbucks. One of which, is returning, the other two are new if I’m not mistaken.
The first one they have is the Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino, it is delectable. Starbucks, please keep this! The first thing to hit is the scent of caramel and toffee on top of the marshmallow whipped cream. I did notice that first sip is almost aggressively sweet and rich, which is fine. It’s very caramel, so not for those of you who are more casual partakers of caramel.
This was the first one I tried, and I was hooked. I’m not going to let it replace my Macchiato due to caloric content, but it’s definitely up there with my favorite frappes. Some sips have. It does little bit of a bitter tinge, maybe it’s more nutty? It adds a great contrast to the sweetness.
I wasn’t sure which one to do next, but I ended up going with the Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino. The first sip was following the caramel one with aggression. It’s a more rich, almost dark chocolate flavor. Like a frozen hot chocolate. I’d recommend this one if you’re a fan of really chocolatey flavors. How many ways can I find to say that I really enjoyed this one too? How many things can you say about a drink that amounts to a mocha with cookies in it? Guys, if you want chocolate, drink this. It will obliterate your craving.
The last one is the one that is making a temporary return. The Starbucks S’mores Frappuccino. This came to me topped sky-high with marshmallow whipped cream covered in graham crackers. This is the first time I’m able to taste the whipped cream unfettered by other flavors, and oh my god. It tastes so nostalgic to me for some reason. It reminds me of Halloween.Or, is it the little Santas you get that are marshmallows covered in chocolate? Maybe it tastes like Easter? My point is, it’s really, really good.
When I finally got around to sipping the actual drink I found it to be likewise pretty good. By this time the sugar high is starting to hit me, because I have all three of these sitting in front of me, so I’ll try to focus. It tastes primarily like the Marshmallow whipped cream, but also vaguely like honey. It’s exceptionally rich, and I think I prefer it to the chocolate one.
Hey guys! Guess what season it is officially? Summer. My least favorite season of all time. I only assume that this is officially Summer because it’s hot as all get out and wouldn’t you know my AC is on the fritz. With all of this hot hot heat, I needed something to help me cool down. And maybe coffee is that thing!
Hey guys! Happy on time Monday! The first in…. well, a while. I’ve been getting the same ol’ subscription boxes for the last couple of months, but for whatever reason I haven’t been writing on them. What can I say other than I dropped the ball. This post is a special farewell to Yes Oh Yas, which I’ve been paying for since the middle of last year. I haven’t been impressed by the names included in my shipments.
This could be a thing that’s just me- but if I’m paying upwards of 20 dollars a month, I want big names. Not these unknown little things, you know? I have nothing against indie brands or anything, but honestly, the quality hasn’t blown me away with these. It’s been a consistent disappointment, much like Sephora play. And like Sephora play, this one is also canceled.
This particular shipment had a small, colorful palette from Amorus. The palette was called Lady Boss and is a somewhat juvenile pink, cheetah pattern. Honestly, that’s just me being petty, but I wasn’t a fan of the packaging. I did like the color story of the palette, as it had a nice smattering of colors that looked promising. There was a liquid liner, that I was curious about, that had the usual felt tip. A cute little tube of liquid lipstick, and a lip brush. There’s also a detox bath from Dosi, that I’m super curious about.
For the testing phase on this shipment, I used the palette, liner and lip product. The palette, in all was unimpressive. The colors lacked pigment and did not want to blend. I was was a little happy with the orange which did brighten up the crease a little more than I was expecting. The black in the lower right corner was woefully underperforming, I was a little heartbroken with that turn of events. The liner from Studiomakeup was…. likewise displeasing. I found it a bit hard to work with, with admittedly could be user error, but I did also notice that it dried up on the nib very quickly. The last of the items I used, was the lipstick, and it smelled terrible. A very… rubbery? smell. I’m not sure how to describe the scent, but I wasn’t too into it.
I wanted to show you guys the look I came up with for this particular box. I had to literally dig into the colors to get the pigmentation that we have there. Also, I want to extend an apology for my aggressive looking brow. I’m not sure what to say except for- “oh”.
I don’t think I have to say too much about this rating, since I kind of tore into them, honestly. The subscription service is not bad, by any means and maybe I was unfair. My biggest gripe is that I feel like the cost isn’t quite justified at $17.00 or more for each shipment, I’m not able to say it’s worth it. I’m moving over to Ipsy Glam Bag Plus, which is like 4 dollars more and looks to include some of the high-preforming items I’m more interested in. Maybe I’m just boujee?

Hey guys, happy Good Friday! I know I fell off of doing the unboxings of my makeup subscriptions, but I hope to be able to get back to them. Today, I checked the mail and had my Lip Monthly bag, as well as my Allure Box. Honestly, Allure hasn’t impressed me since Christmas. I mean, you can’t really top a box that is hand picked by NikkiTutorials. This particular one actually surprised me when I looked inside!
Right off the bat, I was excited for a Natasha Denona single, even though at this point, I feel like I have enough her shadows. I’m always willing to accept more. Her formula is superb. There was a Luxie tapered brush, which made me pretty happy too. I’m getting an appreciation for brushes, as I’ve gotten… 3 sets of BH Cosmetics brushes? I feel like they’re great, especially for the price. But I will admit, that I love my Luxie brushes.
A brown Laura Gellar twist up eyeliner was also included in this box. I was thrilled, because I love liners and mostly stick to black, so brown is a nice change of speed. I was working on a look for a twitter tag that I’m participating in and thought it would be nice to have brown to ground the look. It broke. I was… disheartened. I don’t even have a sharpener small enough to bring it back to a point. So I had to make do.
You guys may know that I’m a slight, ABH fangirl. I swoon over every palette and am only missing the Mario one. I rushed out to preorder the Riviera and loose highligter. But, I only had two ABH lip products. One I got from TJ Maxx and one I got on my Black Friday Spree. This one is the Liquid Lip in Pure Hollywood. I legit don’t get the Mauve vibes from this. It’s so pale and you almost can’t differentiate it from my skin. It reminds of me of when I’m doing my foundation and I have it on my lips. As much I love ABH, I don’t think I’m feeling this color. I really love their shadow formula, but I do find their lips to be drying so far. So, I might be sticking to their eye and face products.
The last couple of items in this box were a frizz and heat protectant, it smells strongly of oranges and reminds me of that orange cleanser that used to live in my Step-Father’s garage. I used to habitually use it and just enjoy the aggressive orange scent of it. I think it was supposed to clean motor oil and stuff like that off of your hands? And, I want to be clear that I don’t mean that negatively. It was a nostaligic scent- but I don’t think I’ll be using this for a while, since my hair is so short right now. The last thing was a packet of tanner wipes, that I’m sure I won’t be using. I have no interest in tanning, so these might get passed off to someone.
I’m fairly pleased with this Allure shipment, so I’ll be keeping this one for a while longer.
Just because I’m so incredibly proud, I want to put my teaser here too for the #candysweets zodiac tag I’m participating in. I’m trying to up my makeup game and learn blending and such. Call me big-headed,but I think I did well on this look!
What did you guys get in your Allure box?
We’re going to stray a little from the usual content once again, and move back to fashion! I was thinking how there are literally so many places to buy clothes online. Some are great, some… not so much. I wanted to compile a list of my favorite places to shop for clothes online, in case anyone was itching for a new wardrobe!
4. I’ll start off with my favorite place that costs a little more than I want to spend most of the time. One of my absolute favorite aesthetics is vintage. I’m not picky. I like the 20s-70s, generally but have been known to dabble outside of those decades. My all time favorite category on their site is the fit and flare dresses. They’re just way too classic!
3. Another vintage online shop and also fairly pricey; Unique Vintage. I got my 1920s Flapper Dress from them and the quality was amazing. The dress was on sale from 50-ish to 27. I think I got a steal. I don’t plan to venture too far from their Clearance page, just because they are fairly pricey. They’re slightly more attainable than ModCloth, and their swing dresses are to die for.
2. A very recent favorite of mine that has proven to be absolutely phenomenal, aside from (what I consider) excessive shipping. Logically, I know that it comes from individuals and not a giant warehouse, but I don’t like shipping, okay? Im talking about a site and app that’s essentially an online thrift shop: Posh Mark. I’ve done a somewhat considerable amount of shopping there since finding it. Since they don’t have a usual “stock”, I’ll just show some of my loot!
1. I’m an avid thrift-shopper when it comes to my clothes, and on my other favorites follows the lead of Posh Mark, I’m talking about Thredup. Primarily, I use their services for their curated goody boxes, honestly. One flat shipping fee and I get to try them on? Perfection. I’ve gotten two so far, and I show no signs of stopping with these deliveries.
That’s about all I’m able to come up with for today’s post, since I literally don’t shop online all that much. Most of my shopping is done in person with some exceptions! I’m definitely planning some Beauty related content, and I have a few ‘What’s New?” posts to prepare, as well as a trip to Atlanta later this month! This big huzzah in May is happening no matter what, because you know what? I need it. Big, big things coming even though I died on the inside recently and haven’t been motivated.
Do you guys remember those quinesential creme-filled eggs that the stores sell right around Easter? Spring is Officially underway and Easter is in the near future. I remember being a child and walking into the local Walgreens or CVS… Eckards? I would always make a sharp beeline to the Easter Display. Filled with items of delicate pastel patterns and most importantly, Candy. Among those, was the excruciatingly sweet Cadbury Creme Eggs.
I remember that they always had those amazing commercials with the different animals in bunny ears, and to this day I occasionally say “Buh-meow, buh-meow”
Don’t ask why, but I love that commercial. I don’t know if it’s the cat or the llama that gets me. But even that amazing piece of artistry was never enough to make me like Cadbury Creme Eggs. Today, that changed. I went to My Boulange after doing some production shots for an indie movie a co-worker is filming, and saw they had a Cadbury Creme Egg flavored specialty latte. You guys know I love me some lattes.
This drink is a mixture of dark chocolate, white chocolate and vanilla, and all delicious. As expected with the two chocolates, it’s quite rich. The espresso offers a little tinge of nuttiness to the flavor. Of course, I got it on ice and it was almost like drinking a caffeine infused chocolate milk. Two of my favorite things! Chocolate milk and caffeine!
The flavor of the vanilla is subtle and sweet, I kind of like vanilla playing second fiddle to chocolate. I don’t know why I don’t combine them more often. I guess I kind of see them as opposites so in my mind they cancel each other out. Or, that’s as close to logic as I can get with that idea.
I’m really into the My Boulange French Decor, and the numerous Eiffel Towers that are in attendance. Of course I had to take a picture of my coffee with the Eiffel Tower behind it… or one of them.
My consensus can be summed up in one word: Yum. If you want a longer rating, it was abosolutely delicious. A little bit richer than a regular mocha, but that’s what you get when you mix two chocolates. I really enjoyed it, but I don’t know if it can dethrone my recent favorite: the caramel macchiato.
